Precious Moments Chapel
The Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo inspired the beautiful murals in this chapel. The figures in these biblical representations, however, are the famous and delightful Precious Moments figures. Over 400,000 visitors every year step onto these perfectly landscaped grounds in the Ozark hills of Carthage, Missouri, where the chapel stands.

 

Precious Moments Art Museum
This former home of Sam Butcher, the creator of the Precious Precious Moments Fountain Moments phenomenon, now holds Precious Moments artwork beyond that in the chapel as well as inspiring art from around the world.

Precious Moments Fountain of Angels
This light and water show is set to a soundtrack by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and features Precious Moments figures as well.

 

The Precious Moments Wedding Island Tour
A wedding chapel that’s the stuff of dreams – you’ll discover something beyond your imagination when you cross to an island on a 40-acre lake and visit the magnificent stained glass windows and beautiful mural in this chapel of dreams.

The Civil War Battle of Carthage and the infamous outlaw, Belle Starr, feature in the exhibits here and memorabilia from the Civil War in southwest Missouri.

 

Powers Museum
Lots of homegrown fun in this tribute to Carthage history, its involvement in the Civil War, and reproductions of period wrapping paper, paper dolls, and more.

 

Carthage Municipal Golf Course
This is a beautiful respite with its 18-hold golf course, pro shop, and snack bar. You can even get lessons from a PGA professional, Mark Peterson.

 

Route 66 Drive-in Theater
Step back in time and enjoy the classic thrill of a drive in movie on the famous and nostalgic Route 66 – right through the heart of America.
