This small 20-acre rescue zoo started humbly in 1990 and has today grown to one of Austin's top attractions. Currently, the zoo holds over 300 animals representing 100 international species with a variety of exhibits showcasing the animals' unique personalities and characteristics, informing visitors on the importance of ecology and conservation.

Explore areas like the Primate Palace and Pavilion to see the Capuchins and spider monkeys, lories, and marmosets, among others. Head over to see the tigers, leopards, cougars, and bobcats in the big cat area and even spot some rare wolf hybrids. Also in attendance are black bears and lions, red kangaroos, gray wolves, and a number of North American creatures like hogs and domestic animals. You can even feed the goats, deer, sheep, and llamas if you want!

The Austin Zoo is now offering private tours to groups that wish to learn more about the animals, the zoo's conservation and care practices, and moreover a 45-minute walking tour.
