Serving as the 11th largest classical ballet company in the U.S, Ballet Austin is one of the most artful and culturally satisfying attractions your group can visit during your trip.

Performing within the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Center for Performing Arts, Ballet Austin provides professional performances and classes ranging from pro ballet lessons to pilates and hip-hop courses. The center in which they perform operates the largest combined training facility, presenting acclaimed productions and committing itself to public access of the programs.

The ballet group itself is 'classically innovative', performing such popular works as Taming of the Shrew, Mid Summers Night Dream, Peter Pan, Master of Dance, and of course, The Nutcracker. There are also several international festivals the ballet takes part in, from Paris to Montreal, Kennedy Center to Washington D.C.

Students in particular in the area love the opportunities provided by Ballet Austin, with an onsite academy serving over 900 students a year and providing various scholarships as well. There is also Ballet Austin 2, first established in 1999, specifically for high school students interested in the art of dance.
