Atlanta is slowly growing to be one of our favorite spots to send student groups and families, a really great city for education, fun, and great food!
From city classics running for more than 50 years in the area to new organic kid favorites, we've found all the best in group, family, and budget eating through the ATL.
Best in Town
- Mary Mac’s Tea Room
Mary Mac’s has been a city classic since 1945, this fun eatery serving up a ‘meat and two sides’ with plenty of Southern hospitality for over 70 years now. Try the meatloaf, the catfish, or any of the over 30 different sides while here, each dish really kids friendly and really delicious. Just be sure to pick up your signature tin of Cinnamon Buns before you leave ‘Atlanta’s Dining Room’.
- The Varsity
This may be one of the most iconically Atlanta famous eatery, making it one of our top choices for kid friendly restaurants in the area. Grab burgers, hot dogs, or fried pies with ice cream while here, each perfected in taste after 75 years of business. Our favorite choice? Chili Cheese Dog and a Frosted Orange, you can’t go wrong with that!
- Tom + Chee
Every kid (and adult, really) loves grilled cheese sandwiches and soup, especially with all the delicious options at Tom + Chee. Here you can find all the grilled cheese and tomato soup classics, but with a few gourmet unique options. Try the BBQ and Bacon with American cheese with the daily special soup, and remember that kids eat for only $0.99 each Monday (½ sandwich, soup, drink).
- Pallookaville Fine Foods
This is one of the most fun places to eat in Atlanta, in our opinion. Pallookaville Fine Foods specializes in gourmet corn dogs and other various circus fares. Enjoy retro toys and a fun festival vibe as you choose between classic hot dogs and pork burgers while watching The Munsters overhead. The old soda fountain here will give you interesting drink choices, also, like syrup soda and egg cream!
- Pizza Crusta
Welcome to Pizza Crusta, the Sandy Springs area eatery in which you make your own pizza, right at the table! This has always been a kid-friendly favorite, not only for the ‘chef-in-the-making’ experience but also for the budget-friendly option. Make your own pizza, from dough to topping, enjoy it, and get a drink for all under $10.
- Sugar Shack
When it comes to Atlanta’s favorite sweet treat stops, the Sugar Shack on Peachtree Road is definitely a must-mention. Within this cozy hangout space, you can find cupcakes, sheet cakes, pound cakes, cheesecakes, cookies, brownies, pies, bread, and coffees! You will leave here with a massive sugar rush and bump in your mood, the award-winning bakery options almost too hard to choose between! (We suggest the blondies, white chocolate banana cream pie, or ancho chili cheesecake!)
Kids Eat Free
- Radial Cafe - Kids Eat Free Mon-Fri All Day
One of the greatest things about eating out with younger children? Kids eat free days! Here at Radial Cafe in Candler Park, you will find local and organic breakfast foods and inviting patio seating, the dish favorites ranging from cheese and bacon grits to pumpkin muffins. There is no special time to be here to get the deal, it happens all day every day all week, just be sure to limit it to one kid per adult meal purchased.
- Fickle Pickle - Kids Eat Free Tuesday
Not only is Fickle Pickle fun to say, but it is also fun to eat, and to pay for each Tuesday on kids eat the free day! Here you will find delicious sandwiches and burgers, some of the kid's favorites including the PB&J, Grilled Cheese, and Fried Pickle Slices. The adults will love the patio seating near the main drag outside, as well as the mouthwatering Brie BLT!
