The artists and craftsmen have been building and designing the floats for the Mardi Gras season since 1947. Each year, they design and decorate over 500 floats for the event.

The location also hosts concerts each year for guests to enjoy and also operates a café that serves authentic New Orleans cuisine including red beans and rice. The gift shop is an excellent end-of-tour stop for visitors to buy gifts and souvenirs. Mardi Gras World offers year-round tours that last roughly one hour, led by tour guides who are intensely knowledgeable about the history and customs of Mardi Gras.
