Burns Park

Burns Park

Burns Park is one of the largest and most comprehensive municipal parks in the entire country, sitting at 1,700 acres and featuring historic, recreational and ecologic adventures abound! Here your group will see a pre-Civil War-era log cabin, a Union Pacific caboose, a WWII tank, a gorgeous covered bridge, an accessible fishing pier, several playgrounds, campsites, two full-sized regulation golf courses, and countless sports recreation areas. The amount of things to do here is overwhelmingly large, but in the best way possible, as you will be choosing from 27 outdoor tennis courts, 17 soccer fields, two 18-hole golf courses, two 18 hole disc golf courses, over 25 miles in trails, archery and dog parks, fishing piers, swim areas, and even a seasonal amusement park. What more could you possibly need on your vacation?

While here you will have access to the Arkansas River Trail, as well as several information kiosks that will explain the rich history of this area. Before it was a public park this region of North Little Rock was part of a training camp for WWI called Camp Pike. You can still see fox holes, as well as the aforementioned log cabins, tanks, and trains left on site. The golf courses attract thousands of visitors annually, with the Championship course and Tournament course choices. The championship course is very narrow and challenging for all skill levels, featuring a 367-yard par 4 dogleg left fairway shot. The seasonal amusement park features several small family rides such as a Ferris wheel, tilt a whirl, scrambler, and carousel. Whatever your group decides to do here, everybody will leave happy, worn-out, and thankful!
