White_Mountains,_view_from_Cannon_MountainYou’re in for a true treat with this next stop: the highly scenic, exciting, and breathtaking New Hampshire ride of a lifetime by the name of the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway. This aerial tramway is located within Franconia Notch State Park, a 265 acre natural wonderland. The tramway is found within the state-owned resort on Cannon Mountain, within the White Mountain Range, spanning from the Flume Gorge to Echo Lake. Here your group will find ten different lifts and over 55 ski trails and slopes. Be sure to check the weather for closings and also keep in mind that most lifts are only open from mid-May to mid-October. The entire park offers your group many fun, educational, and recreational opportunities, such as walking the gorge, riding the tramway, visiting the Northeast Ski Museum, swimming or paddling Echo Lake, trout fishing, rock climbing, or shopping for the perfect souvenir (or maybe even some delicious local fudge)!

The aerial tramway, Tramway 34B, is an 80 passenger cable car that takes you to the summit of Cannon Mountain at 4,080 feet, a 2,022 foot vertical ascension that takes under ten minutes. On a clear day the eight minute ride will allow your group to see the snowy mountaintops of four states in the distance (New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, New York) plus Canada. This is most certainly a stop in which you won’t want to forget your camera! The summit will provide your group with absolutely spectacular scenic walking paths, a 360 degree observation deck, a cafe, bar, restrooms, and plenty of information about the tramways history, known to be the first one in North America, built in 1938. This tramway is New Hampshire’s highest lift accessed point, an exciting ride with stunning views that will undoubtedly leave you feeling impressed and awestruck!
