Cracker Creek Canoeing

Cracker Creek Canoeing

Welcome to Cracker Creek Canoeing, one of the best spots near Daytona Beach to get close to nature and spend some time exploring the aquatic ways of the Sunshine State. Cracker Creek is a privately owned and operated family ecotourism business that opened in 2006. The owners, Bob and Jill Williams, have been residents of this spot since 1997 and have strong ties to the nearby historic landmark, Gamble Place. While here make sure you save some time to stop by it and learn a few facts, the place being owned by Procter and Gamble until 1898. This portion of the creek is located on the western end of the larger Spruce Creek, a unique natural black water stream near New Smyrna. This gorgeous creek is one of only a few left undisturbed in Florida and will astound you with its natural beauty and abundant wildlife.

Due to recent preservation and conservation efforts, over 2,000 acres along Spruce Creek are now protected, affording the area the popular Spruce Creek Canoe Trail, part of the Florida Statewide System of Greenways and Trails. This spot in Cracker Creek is one of the few launch sites to the trail and the only public access point west of the highway.

Enjoy hourly or daily canoe or kayak rentals, your group able to rent 17-foot aluminum canoes or kayaks! All paddles and safety gear are provided, and you can also even choose to hydro-bike or sit in on a one hour Eco history tour, two-hour private tour, or sunset cruise along Cracker Creek. Be sure to check if there are any community or annual events happening during your visits such as Cracker Day, Elementary Days, or Founders Day, each showing the amazing feats and local lives of "old Florida." There are group camping opportunities here if you’d like to stay longer, as well as an onsite outdoor cafe area to grab some grub!
