WHERE: 6801 Hollywood Boulevard
Los Angeles, California
WHEN: Guided tours offered daily, every half hour
WHAT: Hollywood Theatre
You may know the Kodak Theatre as the first permanent home for the Academy Awards or as the setting for the American Idol finale. But all kinds of amazing entertainment and celebrity events have taken place in this new Hollywood classic. Starting in 2010, a specially commissioned Cirque du Soleil will perform a Hollywood-themed show eight times a week in the awe-inspiring theatre. The Oscars have taken place here for almost a decade now, and the theatre is known for being as glamorous as the Oscars themselves. From the moment you enter this grand building with its luxury décor, you’ll know you’re in Hollywood. The walls are decorated with images of former Oscar winners. You can view an actual Oscar statuette here. And the theatre is breathtaking in its beautiful detail. The Kodak Theatre is a Hollywood tradition and will be one of the most memorable stops on your tour.
