The Mariner’s Museum is one of the best celebrations of maritime history in the country. It is a nautical museum guaranteed to increase not only your understanding of life at sea but your interest in it. The USS Monitor Center is devoted to Civil War history with a high-definition battle theater and a full scale replica of the ironclad called the USS Monitor. In the International small craft center you can see nearly 150 boats from 36 countries. There are miniature ships of intricate beauty and detail in this museum, paintings, and artifacts from around the world. The museum is located on a beautiful park and tranquil lake.
