This memorial is located on beautiful
tree-lined grounds known as
Judiciary Square. Besides the beautiful plants and trees year-round, the
14,000 daffodils that bloom here are a favorite Washington D.C. sight in the spring. Along a tree-lined path on the beautiful grounds, you’ll find the
memorial wall with more than 17,500 names of federal, state, and local law enforcement
officers who have fallen in the line of duty. The first known death was in 1792, and new names are added every year in a candlelight vigil during National Police Week. Next door to the Law Enforcement Memorial you’ll find the
National Law Enforcement Museum where you can learn more about the difficult, often dangerous, duties our law enforcement officers face each day.
