The Virginia Living Museum

WHERE: 524 J. Clyde Morris Blvd. Newport News, VA

WHEN: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. weekends

WHAT: Natural Virginia Habitats

The Virginia Living Museum wants you to be able to experience all of Virginia’s wildlife and natural habitats in one convenient place. You can explore Virginia’s streams next to the caves next to the wooded areas and even the sea – all without leaving the museum. You’ll witness sea life in the Chesapeake Bay and its surrounding marshes. The Mountains gallery shows you the fish, turtles and climbing creatures around the James River. You’ll see birds from a boardwalk that takes you right into the treetops and nocturnal animals normally only seen at night. The entire experience represents nature and wildlife as you would experience it in a natural environment. In the spirit of this education, the museum is also part of Virginia Green, limiting its pollution wherever feasible. There is no educational experience quite like the Virginia Living Museum, a fact you will love to discover for yourself.
