Acadia National Park Ranger-Led Class

Acadia National Park

For a small fee, Acadia National Park offers many opportunities to discover the beauty and wonder of God’s creation. Rangers will teach your group about the local fauna and flora of the park as well as any other topics that interest you. For those who are interested in the marine environment of Maine a class exploring the intertidal zone and tide pools is available. Park Rangers will educate the group on the Seastars, crabs, snails, barnacles and other organisms living in the tide pools. Birds of Prey can be found in the park between Dorr and Cadillac Mountains. Peregrine Falcons are on the verge of extinction but can still be seen in Acadia's cliffs and bluffs. Your group will see the nesting sites through viewing scopes and learn more about these birds that can attack their prey at a speed of more than 100 miles per hour! The bald eagle is another of the 338 bird species found in Acadia National park. Be sure to bring binoculars, camera and warm clothing when you visit.
