Chehaw – “Nature’s Playground”
Chehaw is 786 acres of cypress swamps, hardwood forests and accredited wild animal park. Student programming includes “You Belong in a Zoo,” which addresses questions like, “Why do zoos have some animals but not others?” and “How are zoos helping the animals that live there?” In “Muckin' Around the Muckalee,” students can jump in a canoe and take a spin around the creek and, with the guidance of an education specialist, explore the ecology of the Muckalee Creek.
G.N.A.T.S. Good Nights At The Swamp!
Sleepover includes: Animal presentation, games and activities, trip to the zoo on a hay wagon, fire starting demonstration and storytelling, continental breakfast and watching the keepers “wake up” the zoo.
