The Buttonwood Park Zoo is one of the oldest in the nation. It’s open year-round so you can always visit your favorite animals here no matter the season. You’ll see black bears and Asian elephants at Buttonwood. In the Aquatics Environment Center you’ll visit animals from rivers and streams and learn about the importance of clean water to our ecosystem. There are deer, cougars, bison, and a butterfly garden here. Plus, an extremely unique feature to this zoo exists when you cross a charming covered bridge into a traditional New England farm complete with the animals you might find there.
