Bechtler Museum of Modern Art 
Hello Pablo! Pablo Picasso, that is. This influential artist is just one of the remarkable figures whose work is exhibited at the new Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. The terra-cotta tiled museum in the heart of Charlotte’s Center City brims with works by Miró, Giacometti, Calder, Warhol, Tinguely, Klee, Ernst, Hepworth, Le Corbusier, LeWitt and a wealth of other 20th century notables.
The previously private collection of the Bechtler Family of Zurich, Switzerland was, until now, mostly unseen by an American audience. Accumulated over 70 years, the collection features mid-20th-century modernism along with books, photographs and letters that illustrate the personal relationships the Bechtler family maintained with some of the artists in the collection.
The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art juxtaposes whimsy with work of significant intellectual depth and historical significance. Cosmopolitan in nature yet intimate in scale, the museum provides an experience that is inspiring and approachable. An on-site café refreshes visitors with freshly prepared salads, sandwiches and desserts. The museum store provides a selection of books related to the leading figures and movements in the Bechtler collection as well as gifts ranging from jewelry to sketch pads. Hello Modern.
