Hiking in the Rocky Mountains
Colorado
There is no better time to do some hiking than while in the Garden of the Gods. There are ½ mile to 3-mile hiking trails. Start at the Perkins Central Garden Trail and follow the paved path for an easy walk that is wheel chair accessible or try the Ridge Trail for a ½ mile that is no more than 100 feet in elevation. For those who would like a bit more challenge, hike the Siamese Twins Trail as it is less than 150 feet in elevation and just about 1 mile total. Chambers/Bretag/Palmer Trail and Scotsman/Buckskin Charlie Trail are both moderate hikes of about 3 miles. These last two trails allow the hiker to see many beautiful wildflowers on the rolling and rugged trails. Pick up a trail map at the visitor center prior to taking out.
