Daytona Beach Educational Tour
Students agree it's Way More Than a Beach!
The Daytona Beach area has easy accessibility for all ground transportation. Situated at the intersection of major highways, Interstate 95 and 4, the destination is centrally located between Orlando, St. Augustine and the Space Coast. The area is just a little over an hour’s drive to/from each region. The majority of student friendly accommodations are located oceanfront & range from superior to moderate hotels many boasting brand names. There are several restaurants that welcome student groups in the area - like Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Inlet Harbor Restaurant, Chicago’s Pizzeria Uno and more -
A great icebreaker and perfect for team building. Students can start the day with a drive to the Old Spanish Sugar Mill in nearby DeLeon Springs. This rustic restaurant has diners select chefs from their peers at each table preparing eggs and pancakes “their way” on a family –style grill built right into the table. After a brisk walk in DeLeon Spring State Park, the group can be welcomed aboard the M/V Acuera for a fascinating ECO/History Tour. “Captain Frank” and his mate offer an informative and entertaining narration about legend, facts and folk history. Students will be ready for action at the Daytona 500 Experience (the ultimate motorsports attraction at the Daytona International Speedway) and Daytona Lagoon – more than a waterpark. Both venues have an energetic staff offering plenty of fun-filled, hands–on, team-building experiences for groups and are suitable for students of all ages. A visit to Florida’s tallest lighthouse at Ponce Inlet Lighthouse & Museum is always a great way to release youthful energy climbing the 200+ steps and exploring nautical displays and the caretaker’s cottage with period furnishings. The guides are awesome!
The Daytona Beach area offers canoeing, kayaking, a great beach and an endless list of activities. |
