Logan County Courthouse
A former president graced this courthouse with his presence on numerous occasions before his presidency. The famous 16th president was Abraham Lincoln. He led the republic through the civil war that freed the slaves. The courthouse actually has a corner cabinet that was built by Lincoln and his father. Postville, Illinois, was the original home of the Logan County Courthouse before Henry Ford bought the building and added it to the Greenfield Village in 1929. It has been said that as people traveled to town to get supplies they would gather around the courthouse to listen to the twice a year court proceedings.
