Freedom Trail

The Freedom Trail is a path of sixteen historical landmarks that stretches two and a half miles and covers two and a half centuries of history. This educational tour highlight conceived by William Schofield, a local journalist, takes an average of three hours to complete. So be sure to wear your walking shoes when you follow the red brick or painted line. The route begins at Boston Common where British Forces camped from 1775 to 1776 during the occupation. Then it winds its way through downtown Boston where you will see Park Street Church, King’s Chapel, the Old State House and more. Eventually your journey will end at Bunker Hill in Charlestown.
