History Museum

The Chicago History Museum is divided into eight main collections. The Architecture gallery lets you see buildings in various stages of design, from sketches to blueprints, models to actual building fragments. The Costumes include Charles Worth gowns and objects belonging to Abraham Lincoln and his wife. You’ll find items from the Great Chicago Fire and some from the Chicago World’s Fairs. The paintings and sculpture galleries are filled with images of Lincoln as well as Ulysses S. Grant. And you’ll thrill to the fascinating interviews and performances by artists like Mahalia Jackson and Louis Armstrong. Chicago is extremely proud of its rich and amazing history, and you’ll definitely love this brilliant showcase of it.
