Burr Oak was not mentioned by Wilder in any of her books. This is the childhood home of Laura and the birthplace of Grace, Laura’s sister. Charles and the Wilder family lived in Burr Oak in the 1870’s but you can still see their impact today. Come and see where Laura and Alice found a remote place on the hill by the Advent Church. Also see the creek where the Ingalls once waded on the hot summer days. This Ingalls family moved several times and their home in Burr Oak only lasted for one year.
