Spring Valley, MN
From our Laura Ingalls Wilder Literature Theme Tour
Take a picture of the original barn on the Wilder’s farm. Take a tour of the Methodist Church that is now a museum. This Methodist Church is where the Wilders attended services in the 1890’s. This building was once the location for baptisms, weddings, and other things that the Wilders participated in. Now on display in the museum is a photo gallery, an old fashioned variety store, and even an 1800’s wooden fire truck. While in Spring Valley don’t miss the Washburn-Zimmerman house directly adjacent to the museum. This house is equipped with period artifacts such as an old stove, a butter churn, and flatirons.
