Laura Ingalls Wilder Park and Museum

Begin the tour at the Burr Oak Savings Bank, which is where the museum gift shop and Wilder Park is located. Next venture to the Masters Hotel: the only original childhood home of Laura, still in its original location. This hotel was managed by Charles when Laura was 9 years old. Shortly after the turn of the 20th century, the Masters Hotel was used as a home. In 1973 private citizens uncovered that the hotel was once the home of the Ingalls family and was purchased for $1500.00. The hotel is currently furnished with many artifacts from the 1800’s where visitors can see clothing, quilts, and kitchen items.
