Ground Zero, Freedom Towers

On September 11th 2001, this nation was rocked to its very core by one of the most audacious terrorist attacks in the world. At 8:45 am, this bright morning turned into a day veiled in the aftermath of destruction. Three thousand people lost their lives when two planes, hijacked by a group of terrorists, crashed into the World Trade Centers in Lower Manhattan. Police and Fire Fighters worked tirelessly to rescue anyone they could, despite the fact that their own lives were in danger. Most believe that this event is only a tragedy but it is also a testament to the simple goodness in people. When things were at their worst, people jumped in to help, not allowing the chaos around them to affect their goal. This site is a symbol of hope for all New York natives. That even at the darkest of times, we can believe that people will band together as a community and help each other.
