Lincoln Centre Tour
On May 14th, 1959 President Dwight Eisenhower broke ground for the Lincoln Centre for the Performing Arts. When the idea first became known most people were speculative about its success. But as the Centre celebrates its fiftieth anniversary this year, it shows that people embrace the performing arts and celebrate it as well. The Lincoln Centre is the world’s leading performing arts center. Over the course of fifty years, the center has become a cultural and architectural hub of the surrounding neighborhood, presenting thousands of performances, events, tours and educational programs each year. The Lincoln Center is composed of twelve organizations. Some of the more noted ones are the Julliard School, The Metropolitan Opera, New York City Ballet, and the School of American Ballet. This tour will encourage your student group to enjoy performing arts and to appreciate the hard work and dedication that goes into every event at the Centre for the performing arts.
