Journey Museum

Your student tours will love to take an incredible trek through time at The Journey Museum and learn how the mystical Black Hills were formed. Discover fossils and dinosaurs then experience the lives and listen to the legends of the Lakota Sioux People. Follow in the footsteps of pioneers and gold miners. If your class is studying geology, paleontology, Lakota history and culture, pioneer history, or any other topic covered at The Journey Museum, we can arrange educational tours focused on one area of the museum.

New at the Journey Museum is Journey Into Space, where groups can travel through the solar system and beyond the Milky Way to the observed edge of the universe. Visitors will start their journey on Earth, travel to the moon, and see the solar system and the galaxies beyond as only an astronaut could see it. Journey Into Space visualizes science of vastly different scales, from earth science and regional GIS data to large-scale structures and cosmology, multiplying the opportunities to support higher learning. Most of the imagery used is from actual NASA missions and land-based observations from major telescopes. In the "live" presentation mode the audience can virtually travel anywhere, at any time, in the universe.
