Smithsonian National Museum of American History

This popular Smithsonan museum is a celebration of over 200 years of what made our country what it is today. This museum will embrace you with the American spirit that led to the founding of our country, to our independence, and to every exciting milestone since. The Star Spangled Banner is one of the most prominent attractions where you will view the original flag in all its glory while speakers play the famous music behind our national anthem – inspired by that soaring flag. Witness artifacts from our amazing history like Abraham Lincoln's famous top hat or the small desk on which Thomas Jefferson first penned our Declaration of Independence. True to America's passions, you'll also find artifacts from pop culture history, like Dorothy's ruby slippers and Rocky's boxing gloves. The Museum of American history is a celebration of American spirit, freedom, and innovation.
