 Virginia Beach is more than just one city. You have Norfolk, Chesapeake, Newport News, & Hampton that all combine to offer an vast array of exciting attractions that make this area a very popular educational student tour destination.
Upon touching the shore of the New World (just north of Virginia Beach)on April 26, 1607 (13 years before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock) the first permanent English settlers from the London Company set up a cross on the newly named Cape Henry shore to affirm England's claim to the site.  Today, students can see the place this historic event occurred, First Landing State Park. Another exciting historical site found in this area make Virginia Beach an excellent location for field trips.
There are many state-of-the-art facilities that are great for those educational student tour groups that are looking for a taste of science also. The Virginia air & Space Center in Hampton, the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center in Virginia Beach, and Nauticus in Norfolk all offer plenty of educaitonal opportunities to students.
