There you can view the remains of Columbian mammoths at the Nation’s first and only recorded discovery of a nursery herd of Pleistocene mammoths. Though the site was discovered in 1978, it remained closed to the public until December 2009. 

You may need to extend your stay to include other one-of-a-kind educational tours at Baylor University’s Texas Collection, W. R. Poage Legislative Library and Martin Museum of Art or take in a performance at the Waco Civic Theatre or Waco Symphony.
