Elite Circle Grille
Originally opened as the Elite Café in 1919, the Elite Circle Grill is a true Waco icon. It is now located at 2132 S. Valley Mills Drive, right off of the historic Circle. From the very beginning, the Elite always had the slogan: "Where the elite meet to eat," and it still rings true today.
Student tour groups will enjoy dining in this restaurant, which is most famous for being the place where Elvis Presley frequently dined while a Private stationed at Fort Hood. The Elite states that Presley’s favorite meals were fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches and hard-fried eggs with burnt bacon. While Elite's downtown location closed in the '60s due to a slow decline in downtown business, The Circle location has continued to thrive.
In 2003 the present owners, Lynn and Creed Ford III, completely remodeled the Elite and changed the name to what it’s now known as, the Elite Circle Grille. At the restaurant, one can look around their Elvis and Waco rooms and browse the historic memorabilia on the walls.
The Elite invites group travelers to enjoy their original Dr Pepper Ribs in a private dining area.
The Elite Circle Grill is open Sunday - Thursday from 11 AM-10 PM and on Friday and Saturday from 11 AM - 11 PM.
