Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum

Founded in 1968, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum is the official State Hall of Fame for the Texas Rangers law enforcement agency.  The museum is a true Texas treasure and a favorite stop on educational tours. 

Since 1823, the Texas Rangers have represented the highest ideals of Texas and America to admirers from around the globe. Individually, the Texas Rangers are among the most colorful characters in American history. Together, they brought peace to an untamed frontier. It took the Texas Rangers to bring down Bonnie and Clyde. Today, the Texas Rangers continue to keep the spirited state of Texas in line.  

The Texas Rangers are the oldest state law enforcement agency. They play a crucial role in solving crimes and apprehending fugitives. Modern Rangers focus primarily on investigations, and are known as the elite law enforcement officers of the 21st century.  

Student tour groups can take advantage of educational tours and programs created specifically for them. The Crime Scene in a Box program provides students with the opportunity to learn about the challenges associated with modern crime scene investigation while attempting to solve a mock crime. From analyzing fingerprints to inspecting physical evidence, students will attempt to build a case using circumstantial evidence. Using the provided crime scenario and laboratory handouts, students will delve into the exciting world of the modern Texas Rangers and crime lab technicians. The Texas Ranger Museum offers lesson plans aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills criteria.
