The Supreme Court
Each of the government buildings in D.C. are imposing, to say the least. Pillars tower over the massive porch and stairs as you begin your awe-filled tour of the beautiful, permanent home for the Supreme Court.
Besides the impressive neoclassical architecture and luxurious detail on the interior, you’ll find inside several exhibits about the judicial branch of our government, the Court, and its justices. Portraits of former justices grace the walls, and you’ll find each of its chief justices – past and present – in sculptured busts on the ground floor.
You may have to stand in line for this tour as visitors can actually be in the courtroom when it’s in session. On off-days, you can sit for informative thirty-minute lectures in this, the most famous courtroom in the nation.
You’ll find the Supreme Court Building east of Capitol Hill, the easternmost landmark on the National Mall.
