White House Visitor’s Center
With so many fascinating buildings and museums, the White House is perhaps the most coveted tourist attraction for first time visits to the nation’s capital. It can be difficult to secure a tour there, however, because of White House scheduling and security guidelines.
We recommend the White House Visitor’s Center as a great alternative – or a wonderful complement to the White House itself if you do secure a tour.
The Visitor’s Center is located in the Commerce Building on Pennsylvania Avenue. It contains amazing exhibits to help you discover the grand details of the White House and its lavish rooms. You’ll learn about the social events and world leaders it has hosted through the decades and discover trivia about many of its famous former residents. There’s a thirty-minute video to help you get started, and you’ll be given a detailed brochure.
