Daytona Beach International Speedway
Speedweeks and Biketoberfest ®
Daytona Beach has been a popular sports destination since auto owners in the early nineteen hundreds first began racing on its hard, flattened sand. That favorite pastime eventually led to the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing, established in 1947, and the Daytona International Speedway is still the attraction for which the area is best known.
Daytona Beach is beautifully situated on Florida’s east coast an equal distance (of about 100 miles) from popular Orlando, the space coast, and historic St. Augustine. Daytona Beach offers a variety of accommodations and activities for any budget, but it will always be known for its beach and as a great destination for sports.
January through February of each year brings Speedweeks to Daytona Beach, which includes the famous Daytona 500, one of the most prestigious stock car races of the year. Late February through early March, Daytona Beach hosts Bike Week featuring the Daytona 200. And in the fall, it hosts the Fall Cycle Scene championships during Biketoberfest ®.
If you’re part of these exciting auto and motorcycle races held at the Daytona International Speedway, you’re headed to a beautiful destination with a variety of activities. Daytona Beach offers all your favorite classic beach pastimes from sunbathing to surfing lessons, parasailing, kayaking, and more. Daytona Beach Aqua Safari is a tour of the area’s fascinating ecosystem. And Daytona Lagoon is year-round fun for the whole family with water slides, rock climbing, arcade games, racing, and more.
With its extensive sports culture and variety of family activities, Daytona Beach is a favorite for group travel of every kind.
