Norfolk, Virginia
Home to the world’s largest naval base, Norfolk, Virginia, makes a great military destination for many reasons. A tour of the naval base includes aircraft carriers, destroyers, and a busy airfield, plus historic homes from the 1907 Jamestown Exposition. Besides the base, you can visit various attractions in the area dedicated to the U.S. military. These include Nauticus with the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, which has an emphasis on the USS Wisconsin and President Roosevelt’s Great White Fleet. In nearby Virginia Beach, your group can visit the Navy’s fighter/attack squadron at NAS Oceana. Pearl Harbor is a beautiful and moving experience for any military unit. Your group will thoroughly enjoy the USS Arizona Memorial and museum, together with the newer addition of the USS Missouri and its memorial.
