The Newseum in Washington DC

For those of you wanting to have the educational experience of your life, you'll want to check out the Newseum in Washington DC! The Newseum, which is thought of as the "most interactive museum," combines the splendors of modern technology with classic American history. The numerous exhibits showcase the dilemmas, problems, and experiences of American journalists throughout the nation's 200-year history.

Perhaps one of the most interesting exhibits the Newseum hosts is the Interactive Newsroom.  The Newsroom itself is one of the most magnificent and technologically-advanced exhibits in the Newseum--and it's a fun educational experience too! Perfect for any high school journalism or film class, this interactive newsroom puts you in the shoes of American journalists--with newsbreaks and even a deadline for the news!  Several touch screens throughout the exhibit guide you through the reporting process and the many tools journalists use when deciding what news to report on! After this, you can take the NewsMania challenge to test your knowledge!

The Newseum also hosts several guided tours by trained, historically accurate tour guides. This is a good way for students on Washington DC educational tours to experience the Newseum to its fullest! The tour will take you to numerous exhibits throughout the Newseum. For those of you who prefer, the Newseum staff is more than willing to schedule a one-on-one private tour. For Washington DC group travel over 10 people, you will receive a special discount for buying your tour tickets online as well!

If after your tour you feel hungry, you need not go far to find exquisite local cuisine! The Newseum contains a self-service food court, called the Food Section, in which diners will be able to choose from among hot sandwiches or other hot entrees, salads, and delectable desserts!  For those of you seeking a more private dining experience, there is always The Source restaurant. This sit-down bar and grill offers a robust menu that offers many great gourmet choices.  In 2008, the restaurant received an award for the best new restaurant in Washington DC. This gourmet restaurant is something any group will want to experience.
