A College Tour - Truman State University

For those of you seeking a good educational experience, Truman State University certainly has something to offer the knowledge-craving and fun-loving student. One of the top schools in the State of Missouri, Truman boasts a student population of approximately 7,000 students and offers a variety of majors and numerous academic attractions. The university, located in historic Kirksville, Missouri, is home to a diverse student population from many different Missouri cities, states, and nationalities.

When you get to Kirksville, you will immediately feel the pull of the city. Kirksville, Missouri, is one of the cities chosen to host a state university, and it is the state's only liberal arts institution. The city is groomed to cater to the needs of Truman students. The Kirksville square is a good place for any person wanting to find a good bargain or a good meal. Hidden Treasures, a locally-owned store in downtown Kirksville, will both surprise and excite you as you never know what treasures you can find! In addition, the Dukum Inn, home of the "second best burger in town" (with your grandmother's being the first) boasts a casual atmosphere along with excellent food options, like my personal favorite, the Swiss and Pepper burger.

Although Kirksville is certainly an interesting place to explore, the Truman campus offers a serene location for those wishing to get some studying done. Truman State college tours* as well as Truman group tours are available for any high school person wishing to get a good inside look on campus. You will get a chance to experience the highlights of the campus--such as buildings like McGruder, which has modern-style classrooms using the latest in contemporary technology. You will go through the student union building, which is host to several market-style food places--such as Godfathers pizza and the Sky Ranch Grill. If you ever get tired, be sure to check out the coffee shop on the main floor for a cool mocha Frappuccino ®.

You will certainly find Truman educational tours to be of help with getting to know the Truman campus. Besides the buildings, Truman is nationally recognized for the numerous species of trees on campus. Be sure to take a walk through the sunken garden, located near the large, three-story Pickler library, to see the magnificent gardens of various flowers and other fauna. Truman is certainly a location for any student seeking sound educational experience or just to simply get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
