Laclede’s Landing

Laclede's Landing

Laclede’s Landing, the only entertainment and dining district on the Mississippi Riverfront, is the oldest district in all of St. Louis. Established as a trading post for those heading to the western frontier, Laclede’s Landing started what was the beginning of the grand city of St. Louis, the Gateway to the West.

More than just a historic district, Laclede’s Landing is also a thriving entertainment and dining district. Located just north of the Gateway Arch, Laclede’s Landing also offers a free shuttle daily from 11 am-7 pm. When you’re here, check out the Royal Dumpe Theatre, the St. Louis Riverfront Trail, the St. Louis Wax Museum, or the carriage ride companies that lead you through the scenic cobblestone streets.

Shop at the local retail stores or grab a bite to eat at Joey B’s on the Landing, a restaurant famous for their pizza and featured on the Food Network’s show “Rachel Ray’s Tasty Travels.” Tour the area and view the historic architecture on buildings like the 1874 Eads Bridge or the Old Judge Coffee Building, built-in 1884 and one of the largest Mississippi River shipping firms of the era.

Laclede’s Landing is also full of community events and live music, making for a truly entertaining district. Visit during the Laclede’s Landing car show, the Big Muddy Blues Festival, or the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration among others. Sample the mix of cultures that comprise St. Louis, taste the history and experience the Gateway to the West.
