Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater

Famous Historic Red Rocks Amphitheater near Denver, Colorado

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater is a premier entertainment venue mixing social entertainment with natural surroundings. Here you can experience the great outdoors whilst appreciating your favorite music performer in the outdoor theater. You don’t want to miss out on this gorgeous rocky concert hall under the stars in the scenic land where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains.

Over 868 acres you will find two hiking/biking trails, a giant amphitheater, shopping areas, dining venues, and huge red sandstone rock formations. This mountain park is owned and operated by the City of Denver which explains the unique and tantalizing mix of attractions. Go for a hike then stop and dine before seeing a show. It’s simply Denver to mix nature and entertainment.

Out of the two trails available to the public, the Trading Post Trail is perhaps the easiest walk at only 1.4 miles around. Start at the eponymous Trading Post souvenir shop to start your walking tour through the Fountain and Lyons rock formations. The other trail, Red Rocks Trail, is a 6-mile loop through many of the area’s most popular photogenic rock formations.

Red Rocks Park also holds fitness events for exercising in the area including Yoga Days and a 12-Week Fitness Challenge. As it is essentially an entertainment venue, Red Rocks host concerts and social events throughout the year. The warm months bring in the Jeep Summer Concert Series with performers like Ed Sheeran, Death Cab for Cutie, Van Halen, Florence + the Machine, Hozier, and Sam Smith among others.
