The Alamo is only the beginning!

Steeped in history and rooted in numerous cultures, San Antonio’s authentic combination makes it an ideal destination for performance tours.

Known for the Alamo (a mission that gained fame as the site of a legendary 1836 battle during the Texas Revolution), San Antonio also has four other Spanish colonial missions.

These architectural treasures beckon visitors with original frescos and a peek into centuries past—bringing the days of cowboys and epic battles to life.

San Antonio is still making history as a good old adventure town with top theme parks. Students can meet Shamu and feed the dolphins at Sea World San Antonio, the world’s largest marine life park; or kick up a good time at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, known for rides, slides and a medley of award-winning shows.

Here, diversity is a way of life. The cultures of old Spain, Mexico, Native American and German have melted together to create regional cuisine and music unlike anywhere else in the world. This can be seen throughout the city: in old German neighborhoods, family owned Tex-Mex cafes, even in the city’s numerous markets.

A must experience for every San Antonio itinerary would be the city’s collection of museums and galleriesmusic notes including the Smithsonian-affiliated Museo Alameda and Texas’ first museum of modern art—the McNay. Student groups will be able to stand before the works of Pablo Picasso and Diego Rivera, stroll through a replica of a botanica created by Franco Mondini-Ruiz, and ponder the antiquities at the San Antonio Museum of Art.

Plus, with a Texas-sized variety of fiestas, parades, theme parks and historical locales, there is never a shortage of performance venues in San Antonio. Historic theaters, theme parks and Texas-sized fiestas set the stage for any number of performances. Whether your group is looking to grace the stage or relish in the theatrics of others, San Antonio is your ticket to fun. We can make arrangements with performance venues like these for your band or choir, or you can catch an event at one of them as an exciting addition to San Antonio student tours.
