Albuquerque holds some of the most iconic desert scenery, unbelievable mountainside vistas, and incredible canyon views in the entire state, and all of these things can be seen at your next exciting stop, the Sandia Peak Tramway. Considered to be the absolute longest aerial tramway in North America, this aerial adventure is a must-do for any visitor to the city, the exhilarating ride showing off all the city has to offer in one swift trip.

Running from the northeast edge of Albuquerque to the Crestline of the Sandia Mountains, this entire course measures at 2.7 miles, the world’s third longest clear-span tramway trip from Tower 2 to the top. The trip up to the peak takes a total of 14 minutes and will take you through 4 different climate zones, the top at about a 30-degree temperature difference on the sometimes snowy slopes (be sure to wear layers!). Throughout your ride you will see the most photogenic deep canyons and seemingly endless desert skies, so be sure to bring your camera. You will also see the infamous TWA crash site, Domingo Baca Canyon, with bits of wreckage still visible if you look closely enough.
