One of the most unique and entertaining stops you can make during your Baltimore visit is the American Visionary Art Museum, the popular art museum located in the Federal Hill neighborhood. This small museum provides a presentation and display of 'outsider art', the artists involved being self-taught and more out-of-the-box than most.
The exhibits within are rotating and quite unusual, giving your group a chance to glimpse modern American art while still enjoying themselves. There is also two onsite sculpture plazas and a lush garden you will have to visit.
Since opening in 1955 the museum has seen countless single gallery exhibits, but the main exhibit is and has always been the Great Mystery Show. 'From psychics to physicists', this exhibit artfully peels away the 'veil of the unknown', a truly interesting display to explore.
Before you go be sure to visit the onsite gift shop and grab a bite to eat at the onsite restaurant, Encantada. Encantada places high importance on local sustainability and uses fresh produce when available to make their wide range of dishes, with everything from fried chicken to portabella mushroom burgers.
