Arkansas Arts Center

Arkansas Arts Center

What started as an expansion of the Fine Arts Club of Arkansas in 1960 has now turned into one of the finest art museums in the state, the Arkansas Arts Center. This art museum and active center for visual and performing arts holds a world-class international collection of work, live theater, art classes, lectures, films, family programs, and shopping and dining (practically something for everybody in your group)! The art center holds a professional Children’s Theatre as well as Studio School, to help ensure that learning, inspiring, and creative expression in the arts flourish throughout Arkansas for all ages and backgrounds to enjoy.

Within this museum, you will see various exhibits and collections. The permanent collections host a number of renowned works of drawings, contemporary crafts, and special collections. Currently, you can see such special exhibits as Life in Light - Photography in Latin America, Cansa - a Little Poetry, or Our America - Latino presence in American Art. As mentioned before there are also daily skill ranging art classes, programs, and outreach to help immerse you further into the Arkansas art world. This dynamic center also offers a favorite shopping destination in the city of Little Rock, the Museum Shop. Be sure to stop by the shop and the Best Impressions Restaurant, the perfect artsy place to eat lunch, before you leave (an undoubtedly culturally-richer person than before)!
