Art Center of Corpus Christi
A thriving intersection of creativity and community located in the heart of Corpus Christi's Bayfront District.
Welcome to the Art Center of Corpus Christi, the best place to 'see art, try art, buy art, and learn art' in the area! This art museum was first founded in 1972 and has grown into an institution that nurtures and promotes regional artists and art as a service to the diverse surrounding community, attracting around 200,000 guests annually.
The Art Center is always free and provides a place for artists, school groups, visitors, tourists, and community members to view rotating exhibits and engage in art-making experiences. The education and exhibitions provided by the center help advance artists and regional art cultural scene. Though the exhibits are consistently changing, you can expect works such as D. Clark Evans' Before They're Gone, an exhibit featuring photographic portraits and stories of WWII vets, as well as the piece Our Heroes of the Coastal Bend, honoring first responders, essential workers, and all heroes in between. There is always room for new work in the open call exhibit and within the Members Gallery as well.
One of our favorite things about this museum is the art classes, camps, and family art time available at any given time. These are excellent ways to really immerse your students into art and art-making, for free!
Be sure to visit the Barry Brown Clay Studio before you leave, or grab a bite to eat at the onsite Citrus Bistro.
