Day
1

Beach Time

There are so many absolutely amazing beachfront spots in Corpus Christi, it’s honestly pretty hard to choose which one you want to spend your day at! Here are our suggestions.

The Padre Island Seawall Beach allows guests to walk and jog comfortably; Padre Island National Seashore provides the best wildlife viewing opportunities; Bob Hall Pier gives expansive beach acreage and some of the best deep water fishing; Whitecap Beach is famous for its untouched sand dunes; and North Beach has the history of the USS Lexington, city skyline, and unending ocean views to boot.

Day
2

Mustang Island State Park

This entire unspoiled barrier island takes up 3,954 acres plus five full miles of gorgeous beachfront. At this park, you and your group can enjoy a variety of daily ranger-led programs, classes, and events, access to open beaches, and several different camping and birding opportunities. The sand and surf will amaze you as hang out on the beach, fish in the bay, watch the many local birds, or simply discover all that this island park has to offer.

Hurricane Alley Waterpark

Hurricane Alley Waterpark is the family-friendly water-bound attraction complete with a wave pool, lazy river, slides, and thrill rides located in the Bayfront and Downtown District of Corpus Christi. This area is actually one of the most popular in the city and is known by many different names, such as the Marina Arts District and SEA District, which stands for Sports, Entertainment, and Art District.

In The Game Funtrackers

This amusement park and entertainment center is considered to be the 'premier family destination in the Coastal Bend', offering up so many different fun activities there is sure to be something for everyone here, no matter their age or interest! Groups, in particular, will enjoy the discount options for game passes, the ability to participate in multiple activities at once, and plenty of space and options for dining at the onsite eatery serving up classic Americana fares.

Day
3

Texas Surf Museum

The Texas Surf Museum, founded in 2005, will show you and your group just how serious locals, travelers, and surf fans are in the Lone Star State, especially near the Gulf in Corpus Christi. This museum is home to thousands of surfers dedicated to the sport and works to explore the history of surfing in general. This establishment showcases Texas’ place in the history of wave riding and is truly a must-see for any fan of surfing, as well as an interactive adventure and learning experience for non-surfers alike.

USS Lexington Museum

On the USS Lexington, your group will have the chance to take a tour, beginning in the forward end of the hangar deck near Number One elevator pit. Here you will start with a historical film showing in the three-story-tall mega theater then scurry over to the miniature collection of warbirds and warships in the scale model gallery right after. A five Tour Circuit will take you to air traffic control, the missing men POW exhibit, the Machine shop, the Pilot Read Room, and the Pearl Harbor exhibit.

Day
4

Texas State Aquarium

This aquarium is dedicated to promoting environmental conservation and rehabilitation of wildlife of the Gulf of Mexico bay area. Here you and your group will find an impressive collection of regional sea life, coral reefs, dolphin preserves, shark observation areas, touch pools, and even an expansive (and seriously fun) children’s playground and splash park. This is truly a fantastic place in Corpus Christi to take your student group to learn new things, get involved in local ecology and culture, see the city’s history and long-standing marine influence, and have tons of fun all at the same time!
