The effervescent capital of Utah shines like a beacon, full of history and religion, intriguing attractions and a buoyant and endless supply of inspiring education for every student group. Bordered by the shining shores of the Great Salt Lake and snow-capped Wasatch mountain range, Salt Lake City's lovely town is at once scenic and inviting.

Founded in 1847 by Brigham Young and other Mormon followers, Salt Lake City had its beginning in the Mormon Church and has remained a significant city to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The first settlers cultivated the arid valley and before long, the city took off as a mining center and initiated the first transcontinental railroad, becoming known as the Crossroads of the West. With its strength in industry, hard work, and cultivating historical prestige, Salt Lake City is now a highly sought after tourist destination.

With a significant outdoor recreation industry, Salt Lake City takes advantage of its lovely surroundings. The city even hosted the Winter Olympics in 2002 and continues to be one of the most coveted skiing destinations in the country. If you're in the city for strictly educational purposes, there are plenty of museums, cultural attractions, and more for your student group to sample. Visit the Temple Square and explore the many museums capturing the history of Brigham Young, Joseph Smith and other LDS notable figures and historical events or try the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, the Natural History Museum of Utah, or the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Memorial Museum for starters.
