Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum
Babe Ruth, the American baseball legend, still lives on today in the hearts of baseball lovers and visitors to this amazing Baltimore based museum. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Babe Ruth's legacy unfolds through the excellently curated exhibits, events, and group tours. Featured exhibits concentrate on topics such as Babe Ruth: American Icon, College GameDay: Sis Boom Bah, Nine Innings of Orioles Baseball, Orioles Hall of Fame, and the Baltimore Maryland State Hall of Fame.
Babe Ruth: An American Icon is a set of dramatic exhibit galleries through which students and educators will journey back to New York City to the roaring '20s, complete with theater marquees, ragtime music, and of course, images of the Great Bambino. There are also larger-than-life-size images of Babe that nearly fill the 20-foot tall ceiling! One room simply contains period furniture from the late 19th century, when Babe Ruth was born. You'll even learn that his real name was George Herman and that he hit over 714 home runs in regulation baseball games!
Educational programs are offered for student groups. The students can view interactive exhibits and also get to learn about what life was like in the early 20th century through the eyes of the Ruth family.
