Our vision is to inspire an open and diverse dialogue on the critical issues that give shape and meaning to the human condition. - Bemis Center

Welcome to the Bemis Center For Contemporary Arts, the Omaha contemporary art facility that makes an excellent art education and culture stop while in the area!

This art facility features cutting-edge exhibits, lectures, and live residencies regularly, providing the community with an excellent modern art outlet and resource for over 3 decades now. Bemis Center was first founded in 1981 'by artists for artists'.

Inside you will see various temporary exhibits, permanent installations, commissions, and innovative public programs. Take a tour of the center and learn about its history and program offerings, as well as current exhibits, public programs happening currently, and see up to 3 different artist-in-residence studios. The tours last about an hour roughly and are free, though a $2 donation is suggested.

The exhibitions inside are a conglomerate of solo and group exhibits in all media done by local, national, and international artists. Some examples of what you will see include temporary exhibits like the Jullian Meyer's TIMESHARE piece and permanent ones such as the Omaha Mural Project.
