Big Pocono State Park

Big Pocono State Park

Welcome to Big Pocono State Park, the 1,305-acre state park located within the Jackson and Pocono townships of northeastern Pennslyvania.

This rugged park sits on the summit of Camelback Mountain and offers hiking, skiing, and scenic views of 3 states; New York, New Jersey, and eastern Pennslyvania. There are over 8.5 miles of trails to hike out here, as well as plenty of land to hunt, ride horses, wildlife watch, picnic, and more. The park closes a week after deer season ends and reopens each spring.

Big Pocono State Park holds part of the Camelback Ski Area within its confines as well, meaning this is a very popular place to be in the winter for those who like to ski, tube, and snowboard.

During your visit, you can eat lunch or dinner at the Kartrite Summit House, the eatery near the summit of the mountain that is open year-round. There are also over 50 different picnic areas throughout, a popular place to picnic being near the Cattell Cabin.
